A day of devotion, victory and truth—our school celebrated Navratri, Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti together, honouring the divine power of Maa Durga, the triumph of good over evil, and the timeless values of Mahatma Gandhi.
Students of Grades III to V conducted a special assembly on Navratri and Dussehra, where they depicted the nine forms of Durga and highlighted the significance of truth triumphing over evil through an insightful speech. They also participated in the activity ‘Burn the Ravana Within’, writing their negative trait on Ravana’s head and a positive trait they wished to replace it with. In addition, they showcased their creativity by sketching Gandhi’s spectacles, the three monkeys, the charkha, and Gandhi with his stick, portraying Gandhi’s World. These activities fostered character building in alignment with the 2C of the Sparsh mandate while promoting SDG 4 – Quality Education.
Students of Grades VI to VIII presented a special assembly on Gandhi Jayanti, where they sang Bapu’s favourite bhajan, “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”, expressed their views about his life, recited a poem and presented a brief account of his teachings, creating an inspiring and reflective atmosphere. They also engaged in a thought-provoking debate on the topic, ‘India needs Gandhian Principles more than technology to progress’, promoting critical thinking and competency development as part of the 3C of the Sparsh mandate, while aligning with SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
The assemblies and activities beautifully combined festive celebration, creativity and values, leaving students enriched with inspiration and mindful of their role in building a better society
